Neos Work in Progress

Well preparations for neos have gone well so far. As some may know, I will be exhibiting at Mill Farm (#155) from 15th to the 23rd September, here's a link to my

I will be raku firing with my lovely new kiln and there will be demos and new work from all 7 participants taking part at the venue.
Here are my 4 new figures in progress...
The fisher Quines and oil workers have been popular and every time I make a new one, another personality pops out!

They now need arms and hands...

About My Work

Working with both earthenware and porcelain, I use my own customised recipe for paperclay. I create flat bats of plaster of paris and carve words and drawings directly on to the surface, the clay then picks up every intricate detail before it is then used in a variety of applications.
Coloured work is fired several times using translucent glazes and undercolours before being decorated with precious gold and platinum lustres .
White pieces are glazed crystal clear for a brilliant shine and sparkle.
Although my work seems very delicate, the high firing makes pieces deceptively strong and able to withstand being handled, packaged or used in a domestic setting.
